Will a cleanup stop the spread of illness?

Virus and pathogen cleanup is aimed at stopping illnesses that spread primarily through contact with infectious materials. A properly handled cleanup will kill all viruses and pathogens in the cleaned area. However, we cannot guarantee that illness will not spread due to:

  • Contact with infectious materials before the cleanup
  • Presence of biohazards in locations we weren’t informed about
  • Direct transmission (airborne or otherwise) between people

To effectively prevent the spread of illness, minimize contact with potential sources of contagion and isolate exposed individuals until you know they are not infected. In addition, identify all areas exposed to pathogens before contacting FLEET Response’s local company.
